Resources for Volunteers

Volunteer Signing Up

HandsOn Genesee offers a number of resources to volunteers and nonprofit organizations throughout the year.

Volunteer Expo:

We organize an annual Volunteer Expo. Its one-stop shopping for volunteer opportunities and gives nonprofit groups a chance to talk to hundreds of potential volunteers and supporters all in one place! Booths are available for nonprofit groups. There are also awards, door prizes and more! Contact Julia Zaher, (810)232-6285, , for more information.

National Days of Service

HandsOn Genesee helps coordinate events for National Days of Service, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January and Global Youth Service Day in April. Want to do a group project on one of these days? We're glad to guide you in the planning and let you know about national grants and other resources that may be available for your project. Contact: .

Global Youth Service Day

Each April there is a unique opportunity for young people from elementary school to college age to plan, coordinate and run their own service project. It's called Global Youth Service Day. Often there are small grants available for supplies for your project. For more information, check out www.gysd.org. Also, let us know if you want to conduct a service project. We'll show you how to get your project registered and will keep you updated on possible grants. Contact:
