Crossover Downtown Outreach Ministry is a faith-based, interdenominational mission established to provide free emergency food, clothing, household, personal items, and youth programs to those most in need in our community.
Providing faith-based services and programs, showing the love of Christ, restoring hope, and rebuilding lives.
Crossover was established in 1991 by a consortium of churches in downtown Flint, MI. Court Street United Methodist, First Presbyterian, and St. Paul's Episcopal churches established Crossover Downtown Outreach to provide a convenient, centrally-located, service center to help meet the needs of the disadvantaged and to offer programs designed to help them become more self-sufficient and to "cross over" to a better life. Riverside Tabernacle later joined the founding churches as a supporting congregation.
Since it was founded, Crossover has been ministering to poverty-stricken families, children, and the homeless by providing free emergency food, clothing, houseware items (such as dishes, pots, pans, bedding, etc.), infant items, personal care products, and other miscellaneous goods.
These services are provided to all in need, regardless of faith, race, etc. Clients who come to Crossover are screened and referred by GC CARD, DHS, Love, Inc., and over 100 other area agencies. In addition, we endeavour to improve the quality of life of clients via ministries such as our back to school and summer camp programs.
